Q & A
| Q: |
What are hospitalists? |
| A: |
They are hospital based physicians who are available
around the clock to take care of patients in the hospital. This
often leads to more efficient care. Furthermore, whenever
necessary, they will consult specialists especially the ones who
have been treating you. They will also inform Dr. Tam and Dr.
Kapadia of your admission and arrange follow up visit after
discharge.
|
| Q: |
Does my insurance plan pay for hospitalist services? |
| A: |
Yes, they are preauthorized by Dr. Tam and Dr.
Kapadia and your insurance plan. However, it is important that you
report any ER visits and hospitalizations to your insurance
company in a timely manner. (Please read your insurance benefit
booklet.)
|
| Q: |
What do I need to bring when I go to the hospital? |
| A: |
Always bring with you:
- your insurance card
- your medications (bottles or list of medications including
strengths and dosages)
- your medical file, if available. Charlotte Primary Care will
give you a personal medical file/folder for you to keep your
medical information and correspondence from our practice. This
will provide helpful information to the ER physicians and the
hospitalists when you arrive.
